Fostering Entrepreneurial Education is one of the main fields of activities of the German Children and Youth Foundation. We support this field since 1996 with a special focus on students’ companies. At the moment we coordinate a network of about 300 school companies at ALL school levels where approximately 2.400 young people are actively engaged. The geographical focus lies on Germany’s Eastern federal states (former GDR territory). Our pedagogical approach is to work with the young people as well as with teachers: we initiate the founding of school companies, support them continuously and offer trainings, workshops and networking activities. The DKJS is a founding member of the committee “Promoting entrepreneurial skills in schools”, coordinated by the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
